“Well, we don’t want to leave any stones unturned,”so he gave me Dr. Seckin’s card. I immediately called Dr. Seckin because I figured nothing else was working. I had already dumped $80k into IVF – yeah – still paying off those bills. I figured, well, you know, I have to see if this will net any results. So I met with Dr. Seckin. After going through my medical history, he immediately felt that yes, that both the fibroids and endometriosis were probably very problematic and causative of the infertility. He recommended surgery. I’m an acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist so surgery is not the first place I really would like to start but at this point I was so frustrated and really felt like I had no other alternatives. After meeting Dr. Seckin, who I think is an incredible doctor, I felt very reassured. I decided that, you know what, this is… if I don’t do this now, I will never know. What I have been trying has not worked consistently and let’s have some trust in Dr. Seckin and see how it turns out.”

He had told me to not try to conceive for about three months post-surgery. I figured okay I won’t be starting until March or so this year and to my great surprise I became pregnant in February. I had no idea because I really thought I was being careful. After two and a half years of infertility treatment you kind of take a little bit of risk because you figure at that point nothing is working. So, why now? Had I realized that surgery would have cured my problem immediately I could have saved myself two years of time and effort, $80,000 in IVF treatments, not to mention all of the medication that I have taken. You just don’t know, really, what the long-term effects are. It is just so exciting for me that at 41-years-old to get pregnant after so much effort when I wasn’t even trying. I mean… I was so caught off guard in a very, very happy and pleasant way that I hadn’t even checked for a week after my period was due because I really did not think it was possible that I could actually be pregnant without IVF.

Thank you Dr. Seckin, you are an amazing, amazing physician.
