I was unable to eat more than a couple of bites of food at any one time

My name is Georgina I am an endometriosis patient of Dr. Seckin. Back in 2011, I began having abdominal and back pain, trouble with bowel movements, and was unable to eat more than a couple of bites of food at any one time. I went to my OB/GYN doctor who believed my symptoms were caused by adhesions that formed after having a c-section with my second son. I had laparoscopic surgery performed in August of 2011 after which the doctor stated I had several adhesions but also stated I had endometriosis.

For several months after the surgery everything felt fine, however as time passed, the symptoms returned this time more severe. Not only had the pain returned and my appetite diminished but I had to start taking laxatives in order to perform a bowel movement. My husband and I began researching what endometriosis was and the effects it had on women. As we educated ourselves on the disease it became clear that endometriosis is a life-altering disease if not treated properly.
While conducting our research on the internet we came across a list of the top-rated endometriosis specialist in the US with only two listed for New York. With my condition worsening and little known knowledge of who’s who in this specific field, my husband called the first office listed on the website “The Endometriosis & Fertility Center in New York City.” While speaking with someone from the center we were first and foremost told they do not accept our insurance. Their representative went on to say all money owed would need to be paid in full after services were rendered.

My husband and I are from upstate New York approximately two hours from NYC, we are a middle-class family with two children so paying such a fee upfront out of pocket was not realistic to us. After our conversation with the center, my husband and I researched Dr. Tamer Seckin who is the founder of “The Endometriosis Foundation of America.” Being skeptical that our conversation would be any different than the first, we were pleasantly surprised that Dr. Seckin was willing to work with our insurance and my family’s financial status. From the first visit with Dr. Seckin to the last visit, he made my husband and I feel as if we were members of his family. Speaking with Dr. Seckin you could sense the dedication and compassion that encompasses him for the services he performs, but most of all for his caring nature for his patients.
Whether you are wealthy, famous, or just someone from upstate N.Y. Dr. Seckin does not place a price tag on your health. My husband and I could truly tell the sincerity of Dr. Seckin’s words when he said he understands how difficult it is for the hard-working, middle-class family today.
With all this said, it is no wonder Dr. Seckin is so highly recognized, honored, and sought after. Dr. Seckin is not only an excellent doctor but a great humanitarian as well.
