Raise Awareness Now & Win:
Endometriosis Foundation of America “Take Back the Day” Essay-Writing Contest
In April, I described the Endometriosis Foundation of America’s recently established, public “Share Your Story” thanks to your willingness to share your endometriosis stories in the hope that all of us who have the disease may be helped, this archive is growing! Now, Dr. Seckin has informed me about another, similar endometriosis-awareness initiative — an essay contest actually. But don’t delay in entering this contest because all essays must be entered very soon, by the deadline date, this Friday, May 7 . . .

So, how would you take back 1 day that you lost due to endometriosis suffering? What would you do instead?
Enter this writing contest today and let your voice be heard.
You could win: The “Take Back the Day.” Essay-winner will get a chance to go to part of the Endometriosis Foundation of America Blossom Ball this May 20 in New York City and meet cofounder Padma Lakshmi, actress, author, Emmy-nominated Top Chef host and icon of endometriosis awareness and advocacy.
But also, by entering the “Take Back the Day” Essay Contest, you could help raise awareness about endometriosis and then we all win.
Increased awareness about this painful, debilitating disease that strikes about 10 million United States women and adolescent girls (176 million worldwide) is critical. The earlier endometriosis is treated (ideally with surgery that removes allthe disease), the better, Dr. Seckin says. But awareness about the health condition comes first. Endometriosis lives in silence, yet may be eradicated if we keep putting a face on it.
